Open Range Communications’ is soon to liquidate its assets and discontinue its wireless-broadband service to 26,000 customers in 12 states by year’s end. Bankruptcy was filed on 6, October 2011.
In order to extend broadband in the rural areas, Open Range received a $267 million federal loan from Rural Utilities Service in 2009. They currently owe a balance of $73.5 million. Court filings claim that the reason for bankruptcy was placed on the inability to get the broadcast spectrum it needed, problems with network quality and vendors, along with the sporadic flow from its 267 million dollar loan.
This loan is presently under investigation. If you or anyone you know has an account with Open Range, please consider using our Refer a Program. We can help segue their Wireless Internet connection seamlessly from Open Range to NBS and you can earn $100 credit towards your account. Check for details on our website at www.nbson.com

Seasonal Recipe

Homemade Cracker Toffee Recipe - from our very own Michell Lathrop, NBS
You can really use any kind of cracker you like. I use oyster crackers. My kids go crazy for this candy!!!
Ingredients:
Saltines crackers
2 sticks butter
2 c. brown sugar
12 oz. pkg. chocolate chips
1.     Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C).
2.     Line cookie sheet with aluminum foil then saltine crackers in single layer.
3.     In a saucepan combine the sugar and the butter. Bring to a boil and boil for 3 minutes.
Immediately pour over saltines and spread t cover crackers completely.
4.     Bake at 400 degrees F (205 degrees C) for 5 to 6 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle
chocolate chips over the top. Let set for 5 minutes. Spread melted chocolate and top with
chopped nuts. Cool completely and break into pieces.
Refrigerate the pan to set the toffee and chocolate for about 30 minutes. Once set, break into small uneven pieces by hand, and enjoy! Store uneaten saltine toffee in an airtight container for up to a week.
I also keep some of it in a candy bowl and the rest in the fridge.
