Just a reminder to everyone we are in storm season and where
there is a storm there is lightening. We have had direct hits to our
equipment before and have had outages. As soon as the storm is over
and it's safe to climb we replace gear. Michell always tries to change
the voicemail message in cases like this so if you are unsure if it's

Recently

The former
Lotus Smart Suite now "Lotus Symphony" is free (even to businesses).
What's the catch? Well if you just use word processing, spreadsheets,
and the presentation software then you are going to get away with just
Lotus Symphony. However if you need a database or messaging program
they are hoping you will buy their products that are for purchase that
perform those functions.
Still it's a great service to provide to the world, and I must say more
than Microsoft or Mac has done with their production suite products.

This is a good article from Microsoft on how to
optimize your computer. However I don't agree with the statement of:
Two of the most reliable computer virus programs around are Norton Internet
Security and McAfee Internet Security Suite. Find additional anti virus
programs at Microsoft Store.
From what
we have encountered here Norton and McAfee are two of the most resource
hog anti virus programs out there. We find that often they are not updating
at regular intervals or sometimes not at all. Which if your anti virus
program is not updating itself you can be a risk should you encounter
a newer virus.

Scams are going to increase
as the years go by. Learn to question yourself if you should quickly
respond and give our personal information via the Internet. The biggest
blunder I've seen people make is responding to the bank account scam
(which is not listed in this article). The scammer emails you saying
you need to reset your password or you need to update your social security
number for their records and come to find out the bank they say they
are from isn't even a bank the person has an account at.

I'm always torn on if gathering data about people
is a good thing or a bad thing. Growing up in the Information Age I
guess I'm naturally suited to leaning towards the sharing of information.
But as I grow older and have more life experiences and learn more about
other situations out in the world. I tend to be more conservative then
I used to be about my personal life being out there someone else to
know. Even if they are authorized by a company I pay a service to. I'm
